Are all Driving Instructors equal?

Many learners and their parents assume that all driving instructors are the same, as they are trained to help students pass their driving test.

However, not all instructors are fully qualified. By law, ‘trainee’ instructors can charge the same rates as fully qualified ones, and many driving schools don’t disclose this.

To ensure your instructor is fully qualified:

• Ask at the time of booking.
• Check their operating licence displayed on the tuition vehicle’s front windscreen.

A PINK triangle indicates a trainee instructor. A GREEN octagon signifies a fully qualified instructor.
